What We Do
Tree moving is a skill. However, large tree moving with a high survival rate is a science. At Diamond Tree Spades, we have mastered this science.
How We Do It
We understand that digging and transplanting large trees is a precarious job. If done incorrectly, it could cost you a viable full-grown tree. Since up to 95% of the root system is lost during this process, it is essential that the right spade be used for the job in order to preserve the surviving roots. Therefore, we only use the recommended minimum of 10 – 12 inches of spade for every inch of tree caliper.
In addition, we take the following steps to ensure that your large tree moving is done right:
· Planting site evaluation (soil type)
· Review nursery stock quality
· Ensure the safe transportation of trees with the appropriate protective material
· Review planting hole specifications
· Review tree planting specifications
· Look for hazards above and below ground
· Determine the best time to plant
· Implement an effective aftercare program (irrigation, fertilization, staking, and guying)
Throughout this process, we ensure that our customers are well informed about our plans and protocol every step of the way.
